Memorandum of Understanding between RIKEN Institute – Japan and International University-VNU.HCMC for promoting education and research in the field of Biotechnology

International University, Vietnam National University of Ho Chi Minh City has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Japan’s RIKEN Institute on promoting graduate training and research in the field of Biotechnology. RIKEN Research Institute is a world-class research institute (World-class institute). Therefore, the cooperation for education and research in the field of Biotechnology between the School of Biotechnology, IU-VNU.HCMC and RIKEN Institute, Japan will certainly bring many good effects in education and research for undergraduate – graduate students and Faculty members, as well as the School of Biotechnology in the future.

The main purposes of this MOU are:

1. Potentially finding and fostering young talents studying at School of Biotechnology, IU-VNU.HCMC to contribute to the development between RIKEN and IU-VNU, the development between Japan and Vietnam, as well as of world in Science and Technology.
2. Professors and scientists of the RIKEN Institute will participate in teaching and research at the School of Biotechnology as Visiting Professors.
3. Professors and scientists of RIKEN Institute will be appointed as co-supervisors to supervisor the PhD students of the School Biotechnology (Ph.D. candidate) with the faculty members of school of Biotechnology.
4. The Ph.D. candidate selected for the program will receive a scholarship from the Japanese government and can do research at RIKEN Institute for 3 years.
